2011 Wine, Women & Shoes models adorned gowns from the 2012 Badgley Mischka Ready-to-Wear Collection.

The Lexington Cancer Foundation, Inc. introduced an all-new fundraising event to the Kentucky community with Wine, Women and Shoes, an evening of shopping, sipping and swirling select wines, and celebrating high fashion as the spring 2012 Badgley Mischka Ready-to-Wear Collection hit the runway for guests to be swooned.

This fun and glamorous event brought over 350 people to Keeneland’s Keene Barn and Entertainment Center on October 6, 2011. LCF welcomed 17 vendors from Lexington, Louisville and nationwide who displayed their heels, jewelry, handbags, scarves and much more in a marketplace shop for guests to stroll and shop. A dozen wineries participated and brought their best whites and reds to be sampled by the numerous wine loving guests.

The highlight of the evening was the fashion show presented by the New York design duo Mark Badgley and James Mischka. The two unveiled their spring 2012 Badgley Mischka Ready–to-Wear Collection to the Kentucky community; just weeks after the designs were first introduced at New York Fashion Week. Following the show, Mark Badgley and James Mischka meet fans and patrons as the event concluded with dessert and varietals served from some of the country’s top winemakers and distributors.

Silent and live auction items, including a Badgley Mischka custom designed Derby outfit and seats at the designers‘show during February’s New York Fashion Week, along with a Napa Valley trip that included many stops at well-known vineyards, brought many to raise their bid paddles.

The event benefited LCF, with a portion being donated to Horses and Hope, the cancer initiative of the Kentucky Office of the First Lady, Jane Beshear.

Top sponsors included Central Baptist Hospital, University of Kentucky Healthcare, Verizon Wireless and Zappos.
